Cesare Dagliana
Florence 1950
Professional photographer since 1980.
During the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan, he was the correspondent for the German magazine “Stern” and for the French one, “Actuel”.
For the Italian publisher Sansoni, he took care of the photo section of the volum “Palazzi Pubblici in Toscana” written by Franco Cardini and Sergio Raveggi.
He collaborated with “Frigidare”, “Negrizia”,”Altromondo” and other Italian magazines as “Westuff”.
As portraits photographer he realized portraits of famous personalities from the cultural and artistic world and he worked for important recording companies (Ira, Poligram, Emi). He took care of several covers of the famous Italian band “Litfiba”.
His pictures has been published on important Italian magazines such as “Amica”, “Mucchio Selvaggio”,”Rolling Stone”.
From 1990 to 2000 he worked in the commercial and advertising field collaborating with fashion and advertising magazines and agencies and taking care of advertising campaign for clothing companies.
Editorial pubblication: Harper Bazar, Tokio, Ferragamo Magazine. Hong Kong, Firenze Magazine, Leon China, XL Repubblica.
In 2000 he decided to conclude his experience with the commercial and advertising photography and to dedicate his work to social communication projects and to start collaborating just with con NGOs and institutional organizations: Florence Municipality, Medu., Cospe. He is now working with online international news agency Pressenza and Erodoto 108 magazine.
Currently he works for personal projects protracted over time and with the eihter on nature landscape or social-urban landscape using large photog:aphy format with a “meditative and slow approach” to the image.
